Jeline's Fruit Cake - Jeline Hennis

Cream together:

¾ C shortening

1 ½ C sugar

Add:

2 eggs, well beaten

In separate bowl sift:

3 C flour

1 ½ t cinnamon

1 ½ t baking soda

¾ t salt

¾ t cloves

¾ t nutmeg

1 ½ t allspice

Combine all ingredients including:

2 ¼ C applesauce

1 ½ C chopped nuts

1 ½ C chopped raisins

1 ½ C small gum drops (fruit flavored)

∙ Pour into greased and floured pan (9x13 or loaf pans).

∙ Bake at 350' for about 1 hr or until done.

∙ Cool before removing from pan.
