Velvet Cookies

¾ C shortening
¾ C sifted powdered sugar
2 T peanut butter
1 egg
1 t vanilla
¼ t almond extract
2 C sifted flour
1 t baking powder
¼ t salt

∙ Preheat oven to 400'
∙ Cream shortening and sugar slowly.
∙ Stir in the peanut butter, egg and extracts.
∙ Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
∙ Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
∙ Form into cookies on ungreased aluminum cookie sheets.
∙ Bake 10-12 minutes.
∙ Makes 7 dozen.
