Spritz Cookies

1 C shortening

¾ C sugar

1 egg

2 ¼ C sifted flour

¼ t salt

½ t baking powder

1 t lemon extract

∙ Preheat oven to 400'

∙ Cream shortening and gradually add sugar and cream well.

∙ Beat in the egg and extract.

∙ Gradually add the flour, sifted with the salt and baking powder

∙ Form into cookies on ungreased aluminum cookie sheets.

∙ Bake 10-12 minutes.

∙ Makes 6 dozen.
