Snickerdoodles - Jean Porcaro
∙ Mix together thoroughly:
1 C shortening
1 ½ C sugar
2 eggs
∙ Sift together and stir in:
1 ⅔ C flour
2 t cream of tartar
1 t baking soda
½ t salt
3 T cocoa
1 t vanilla(opt)
∙ Chill dough.
∙ Roll into walnut-sized balls and dip in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
∙ Bake at 400' for 8-10 minutes, till slightly browned.
∙ Makes 5 dozen.
