Peanut Butter Cookies

½ C shortening

½ C sugar

½ C brown sugar

1 egg beaten

½ C moist peanut butter

½ t baking soda

1 T hot water

¼ t salt

1 ¼ C sifted flour

∙ Preheat oven to 400'

∙ Cream the shortening and gradually add sugar, cream well.

∙ Add eggs, hot water and peanut butter.

∙ Sift flour, baking soda and salt together.

∙ Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture.

∙ Form cookies on ungreased aluminum cookie sheets.

∙ Bake 10-12 minutes.

∙ Makes 6 dozen.
