Party Clam Dip

1 can New England clam chowder
8 oz pkg soft cream cheese
4 oz can mushrooms, drained and chopped
1 T finely chopped onion
dash cayenne pepper

∙ With electric mixer or rotary beater, gradually blend soup into cream cheese till JUST smooth (over beating makes dip thin).
∙ Add remaining ingredients.
∙ chill.
∙ Makes about 2 ½ cups
