No-Cook Fondant - Helen Arrington

4 egg whites, beaten till frothy, not stiff
6 C powdered sugar

∙ Put half sugar into egg whites and beat.
∙ Add ½ C shortening and beat well.
∙ Add 2 t vanilla, beat and add the rest of the sugar.
∙ Beat till smooth.
∙ Add any of the following:
∙ Cocoa to taste (by T)
∙ Chopped cherries, dried in oven
∙ Chopped nuts
∙ Any flavoring, ½ t
∙ Drop in amounts desired onto buttered plate or cookie sheet and chill.
∙ Remove dip in powdered sugar and shape.
∙ Freeze.
∙ Dip fondant in melted chocolate covering candy completely.
∙ Freeze.
∙ Decorate as desired.
∙ Makes about 4 dozen 2-inch candies.
