Doughnuts Nellie Gault

2 T shortening
2 eggs
5 t baking powder
1 t salt
1 C sugar
4 ¼ C flour
1 t nutmeg or cinnamon
1 C milk

∙ Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
∙ Add milk and dry ingredients sifted together.
∙ Roll on lightly floured board ½" thick.
∙ Cut and let stand about 10 min.
∙ Fry in 345' oil.
∙ Make sure dough is sticky and soft while working with it.
∙ Set on ubsorbant paper to cool.
