Chocolate Fudge - Helen Arrington
2 C sugar
12 squares of baking chocolate
2 T corn syrup OR ⅛ t cream of tarter
2 T margarine
⅔ C milk
∙ Mix sugar, milk, grated chocolate, corn syrup and boil slowly, stirring till ingredients are well blended.
∙ Boil to 238' (soft boil).
∙ Remove from heat and pour into bowl without scraping sides and add margarine.
∙ DO NOT STIR!!!
∙ When lukewarm, add vanilla and beat till no longer shiny and becomes a bit stiff.
∙ Quickly spread into a buttered 9x9 pan.
∙ Refrigerate and cut into pieces when firm.
∙ Keep stored in an air tight container.
