Cheerios Nuggets
1 C brown sugar
½ C margarine
¼ C light corn syrup
½ t salt
½ t baking soda
6 C cheerios
1 C salted Spanish peanuts
1 C raisins
∙ Heat brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt in 2 qt saucepan over medium heat stirring constantly, till bubbly around edges.
∙ Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes longer.
∙ Remove from heat.
∙ Stir in baking soda till foamy and light colored.
∙ Pour over cereal, peanuts and raisins in greased 4 qt bowl.
∙ Stir till mixture is well coated.
∙ Spread evenly in 2 13x9x2 pans (greased).
∙ Bake at 250' for 15 minutes.
∙ Stir, let stand just till cool, about 10 minutes.
∙ Loosen mixture with spatula.
∙ Let stand till firm, about 30 minutes.
∙ Break into bite-sized pieces.
∙ Makes about 10 cups.
