Brown Sugar Spritz

½ C shortening

1 C light brown sugar

1 egg beaten

1 t vanilla

1 ½ C sifted flour

¼ t salt

∙ Preheat oven to 400'

∙ Cream shortening and gradually add sugar and cream well.

∙ Stir in the egg and vanilla.

∙ Gradually add the flour, sifted with the salt.

∙ Form into cookies on ungreased aluminum cookie sheets.

∙ Bake 8-10 minutes.

∙ Makes 7 dozen.
